Between cleanings you can improve the look of your unsealed wood floor by waxing it.
But because the wood lacks the protection of a sealer it is imperative that water and other liquids do not stand on the surface of the unsealed wood for long periods of time.
They can be shiny high gloss or have a matte finish.
Sealed wood floors are common in modern homes.
In the case of unsealed hardwood flooring warm water would be the ideal water to use.
Never use products for finished wood floors.
Unsealed wood floors are fewer and found in old colonial homes.
If they are maintained properly unsealed wood floors can last for many years.
Mopping unsealed hardwood floor with water or liquid cleaners is highly discouraged.
