Two light dependent resistors are arranged on the edges of the solar panel. Arduino based sun tracking solar panel project using ldr and servo motor in this article we are going to make a sun tracking solar panel using arduino in which we will use two ldrs light dependent resistor to sense the light and a servo motor to automatically rotate the solar panel in the direction of the sun light. For flat panel applications trackers are used to minimize the angle of incidence between the incoming light and a solar panel. Solar trackers are typically used for ground mounted solar panels and large free standing solar installations like solar trees.

Our sun tracker system track the sun by use of sensors and rotate the solar panel by means of stepper motor. A solar panel is used to harness solar energy. This project orients the solar panel toward the sun so that it can utilize with higher accuracy. The system requires a solar panel coupled with a stepping motor to keep tracking the sun and moving according to the maximum sun light received.

This motor is electrically connected to the controller board. A solar tracking system maximizes your solar system s electricity production by moving your panels to follow the sun throughout the day which optimizes the angle at which your panels receive solar radiation. Light dependent resistors ldr1 through ldr4 are used as sensors to detect the panel s position relative to the sun. The project is useful during cloudy days.

The system periodically checks the availability of solar energy from one horizon to other horizon periodically. The designed project aims at tracking the sun to achieve the maximum sun light incident on the solar panel during anytime of the day. Also since a panel which is incident to the sun can gather more amount of solar energy the solar panel is attached to a motor. The sun tracking solar panel consists of two ldrs solar panel and a servo motor and atmega328 micro controller.

The goal of this project is to design an automatic tracking system which can locate position of the sun. Light dependent resistors produce low resistance when light falls on them. Thus the tracking of the sun s location and positioning of the solar panel are important. The solar tracker comprises comparator ic lm339 h bridge motor driver ic l293d ic2 and a few discrete components.

The sun trackers are all weather reliable and affordable tracking and positioning instruments. In this project i will show you how to create a solar tracker which like the name implies can follow the movement of the sun throughout the day. Sun tracking solar panel using arduino project is based on arduino controller board which controls the various activities of the project.
